Anyone Know about Prime-Less Amazon FREE Shipping and <$25?

I hope that this thread is an appropriate one for this subforum. If not, I apologize and I'll take the post down immediately; and please understand that the infraction was not intentional.

The description for the subforum, on the MobileRead homepage says, "Find hot e-book deals and freebies and other noteworthy e-books resources." I could make a case for this post being about something related to ebooks, albeit it would be one of the most tenuous of cases.

I caught just a bit of information about Amazon offering free shipping (I think that it was for any amount of merchandise) this holiday season to non-Prime customers. Does anyone know any more about this promotion, or where I could go to find out?

It was mentioned in the BF thread.

I can say from personal experience, they are holding most things a full 8 days or more before shipping. I only got one of my orders mailed earlier (as in 6 days before mailed) as they combined three of my orders into a single package.

Thanks so much. Gave me all of the information that I wanted to know. Didn't realize that it had begun so long ago (Nov. 5). I suppose that it's s till in effect or we would know.

I plan to combine that with Amazon's offer of $15 credit for purchasing $50 in gift cards. I'm planning to keep the gift cards for myself; they are a little bit inconvenient to use compared to the "one-click" ordering. But, if I can save a little money . . . .

I am a Prime member and ordered something and choose no rush shipping to get the digital credit. I ordered on Friday November 23rd and was supposed to get it December 4th. It shipped Friday and I received it yesterday. Go figure.

Same here--I had ordered one item on Thursday with free one-day shipping that should have arrived Friday; two other separate orders with no-rush shipping that had December delivery dates. All three items ended up in the same package and arrived Saturday.
