Dead line on my Glo HD's screen

I'm really sad. A dead line appeared on my screen, and it seems to be permanent. The line is light gray and it is present at all times, as you can see in the picture: Do you know what could be causing this? This is honestly the best eReader that I have ever owned, and it has been discontinued. I would like to repair it myself, if possible. |

Not knowing that much about it, I would guess it might a lose screen cable inside. But others know a whole more about this than I do. If you're in love the Kobo Glo HD (and this one can't be fixed), Rakuten (themselves) sell refurbished Glo HDs on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kobo-Glo-HD...AAAOSwKXdahfL7 EDIT: Just realized you were in Spain. I know Rakuten sells (or used to sell) these refurbished readers on some European eBay sites, but I don't see Spain included. Last edited by rcentros; 10-21-2018 at 03:23 PM. |

Yes indeed, it might be a "loose cable", no joke. But there are so many lines and pixels that these are not actually implemented as cables, everything is micrometer size hard soldered on a board, so you can't do anything yourself. Maybe it could be possible to replace the whole screen, but I don't know if you'll find a Glo HD screen out there, and I think it is not user friendly to implement in. Others might know better.

For replacing the screen, there are frequent questions about finding. And occasional posts of people who have found a screen and done the work.

When I did that, I didn't see anything wrong with the cable or the connector. Any idea on what I should look for? Minuscule scratches?
