Stuck on "Please enter the serial number"
Hi everyone
My Kindle 4 button on/off has stopped working and I've activated the "ENABLE_DIAGS" mode trying to find some option to completely disable the screensaver and... I've done it all wrong ![]() After entering on the diags mode, I click on the first option (I think it's something like "Device Settings") and by accident ![]() I have tried from the computer to use the fastboot to reboot it, but I always get a message "waiting for device". Any idea how I can get out of the serial number window (without using the on/off button, of course) and try to get back to KindleOS? Thanks! |

Thank you for your suggestion! I downloaded Kubrick and I booted it but the problem is that the computer does not recognize the Kindle because in order for Kubrick to recognize the ebook it is necessary to use the button on/off and it doesn't work ![]() I'm stuck on the same screen, I tried to dismantle the hardware but the power button is not accessible only by removing the rear casing |

Thanks again!
I disconnected the battery and tried to exit DIAGS mode using the file "deviceSettingInfo.xml" and/or "device_info.xml" (new folder: diagnostic_logs and new empty file inside) but I am in a loop... it never leaves the menu "Device Settings" (I already try also deleting manually ENABLE_DIAGS). I've also tried on the main menu the option "Exit and disable diags" but it's in another loop with a message "Are you sure?" And I've tried Kubrick again but itdoesn't recognize the Kindle (I guess is mandatory to use the power button to enter into download mode). Do you know if there's another way out to KindleOS? Finally!
Steps that worked for me: - Enter into USB Mode and copy the Jailbreak file data.tar.gz - Select "Exit, Reboot or Disable Diags" - "Reboot System" And... I'm in the KindleOS! Thanks for all your help |
