2 Folders

My Calibre database seems to have got slightly confused! A number of authors have 2 folders for the same book - one folder contains metadata and cover information and the second folder contains metadata, cover and MOBI and/or other types of book formats.

Is there a way that I can combine these two folders into one or else delete the folder that does not contain the book data?

This is causing me problems as sometimes when I search for a book, I get the folder that does not contain the book, just its metadata and cover.

M key merges selected folders and record into the FIRST selected (click) then (ctrl-clicked)

search: formats:false
finds the records without any BOOK formats

search: not formats:false
finds the records with BOOK formats

This only works if both folders are visible in the Calibre GUI. I assume this is not the case.

There I go 'assuming' again.

Yep, user editing the folder names using the OS. Using both Linux and Windows to manage the Library (Linux is case sensitive and will create a folder EXACTLY as cased)

Both folders are visible in Calibre and so when I do the search formats:false all the folders without books are highlighted.

My question now is - how can I delete them? Is there a simple way that I can delete all of those highlighted easily?

Thank you

Yes,
By highlighted: Is ONLY those showing (no non-highlighted)?

Select all: right-click: delete

IF ALL BOOKS SHOW, change the results mode
Preferences: Searching: (remove the tick) highlight search results

if you want the Toggle mode button to show, Tick Show a Quick toggle....

Those without books are highlighted (in green) but the ones with books are visible but are greyed out.

When I right click only one book is selected in Blue.

See https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=257585

Set the Highlight search... and Show a quick toggle... buttons, do the formats:false search, you should only see the book records with no formats, select all (Ctrl+A) and remove them (Del).
