Aura One vs H202?
I'm torn between these two. Cannot try in person.

The One is really large (not super heavy, but large in height and width); if you wear bifocals, you'll find yourself moving your head up and down to keep a portion of the screen in focus.

Kobo Aura One:
Pros : 7.8” screen is massive like a hardcover book. Super thin and lightweight. Waterproof. Option to get 32GB which is useful when reading comic books or lots of large PDFs. Nice feeling back cover. Ambient light sensor. Cons : early reports of battery issues, though seems to be fixed with recent firmware. Screen refresh takes milliseconds longer because screen is bigger, consequently feels a little less “snappy”. Some reports that tapping the screen is not as responsive as smaller devices. The Comfortlight Pro LEDs shift from cool blue to red, and while somewhere in the middle it looks fine/good, some people feel it gets excessively red when shifting the color further. Ambient light sensor often doesn’t work how people want it to. Expensive. H2O2: Pros : 6.8” screen is bigger than standard 6” eReaders. Waterproof. More portable than a KA1. Not as expensive as a KA1, so you may actually feel comfortable carrying it out of the house. Nice feeling back cover. No common issues or complaints; it is what it is and works. Cons : usually cross-shopped with everything else and seen as more expensive than a 6” reader for only a little more screen real estate and waterproofing. Screen resolution drops from 300ppi to 265ppi - still pretty good though. Unlike 6” Clara HD or Aura, you can’t open the device and upgrade the memory card. A little heavier and thicker for its size than 6” reader. |

Not having used nor seen a H2O v2, only an original H2O:
If I had to make a choice based upon my own experience, I'd go for the more expensive One in a second again. I loved my H2O, but the One is even more perfect for me. It has a slightly larger screen, while the device isn't that much larger in total (very handy if you really should get some reading glasses but don't want to...). But most importantly, that natural light system is priceless for me. I mostly read in a dark bedroom and I always got blinded by my H2O. Never with my One. |

Hi
I had both, for me H2O V2 leads.
I chose the H2O for its format, where the standard "6" is the size of the display "6.8", which is ideal for me to read. With "AURA ONE", I felt a lot of hands with one hand. **I'm not sure, but H2O V2 has new/better HW, "H2O V2@Mark7" vs "ONE@Mark6"?** For me : • H2O V2 = for eBook Reading *more comfortable reading, traveling . • ONE = for PDF. *more comfortable to read PDFs by display size and more ppi 300 vs 262ppi for H2O V2 (an almost imperceptible eye) Sorry for my English, I'm using Google Translate Last edited by Michal Jancik; 08-27-2018 at 08:01 AM. |

Wait...are you THE Robert J Sawyer? If so I've read and loved half of your books and have the rest on the backlog to be read. Working through the Expanse series again first. Every time I saw this username I thought it was a fellow book nerd just using an authors name the way people use other celebrities names in forums.

@Derf do you have them both? Which do you prefer if you could only have one?
@Sweetpea so the fontlight is too bright? Doesn't go low enough? @Michal Jancik is there a clear difference between 6" and 6.8" when reading? It doesn't sound like much more size. |

Kindle on the other hand is very limited in the ability to squeeze more text onto the page. Short of jailbreaking there is not much to do. Last edited by DuckieTigger; 08-28-2018 at 02:50 AM. |

H2O v2 $100 vs Aura One $180. Does the extra 80 worth it? Thanks.

Yes, he is the one who promotes WordStar for DOS ... and I think he writes SF books also.
