Team7,
Have you also reinstalled Outlook (the desktop PIM that PPC syncs to)? You also need to check to make sure that you have the tasks, calendar, notes and contacts conduits selected (turned on) in the activesync options. |

Thanks bob. I reinstalled outlook and it works perfectly. I have never used outlook before and I was trying to set up my email but I am not sure about the incoming and outgoing POP3 and the STMP or something. Can you explain how I figure that out. Thanks for your help getting the activsync working!

Glad it's working.
Most internet service providers have pop3 servers for mail. You'll need to find out from them what the names of the servers are. There's one name for the incoming mail and one for the outgoing mail. You'll probably have to put in your user name and password also. There's a wizard that guides you through the process in outlook for setting up accounts, but you still need to know that info from your service provider. To set it up on your pda, I think the mail app is part of Windows Mobile, so you probably just have to make sure that in activesync options you have turned on the mail sync conduit. (Put a check mark on it.) |

well I dont really care about syncing my mail to my PDA I just figured I would get it synced with outlook if I am going to be using the application on my laptop to get my schedules set up. I am using yahoo for email. How do I find the names of the ingoing and outgoing? I used that wizard but I was stumped when it asked me.

Team7, what internet provider do you use? Most of them you can visit their webpage and go to the support section. There they usually have docs on how to set up various email clients. You want to find the section that tells the incoming (Pop) and outgoing (SMTP) addresses.
You can also call and ask tech support. They'd be able to tell you within seconds but depending on your provider it might take a long time to get someone on the phone. |

Gatton's info is just what you need for the typical ISP (Internet Service Provider).
In addition, though, you mentioned Yahoo.... Is that the web-based service? I don't know if they even have an available POP server that you can use. Usually people get email accts through their internet provider, and that generally works fine with Outlook. You might not be able to use Outlook as a client for Yahoo email service (if it's like the free one.) If it's a paid service, I'd give them a call to find out if you can use Outlook, and to get the server addresses. |
