SONY PRS505 -> ILIAD --- how you deal with this?

Hi everyone,
i gifted my brother with my sony PRS505 because i was interested so much in reading comics and generally books in a bigger device... so i bought iliad book edition 2 weeks ago.
Now i have a so low mood because i cannot do many things i wanted/hoped.

1. i cannot browse html easily if the html page is too big. I cannot see the rightest part.
2. i cannot read in cbr or cbz. Also pdf multipage i have to convert (i read about multicolumn ipdf but i didnt get how)
3. the reader seems so slow compared to my old sony reader... but it's ok... and also battery last less... but still ok
4. i use mac os, so calibre was a great companion before for prs505. Now i feel alone with my files without any kind of software where i can tag genres and send to iliad already sorted.
5. i used a great sw comiclrf (now in calibre) to make comics but now i would just find an easier way to make pdf-comic

is there anyone else with this experience? (PRS505 -> ILIAD)

I have both (the Sony Reader 500 and the Iliad 2).

At first let me say that I had some problems with the sony. It crashed several times (especially with big files). I´m not sure how to read comics but I´m almost positive there are programs for that (check out the file section).

For conversion I use the Adobe 9 Acrobat Software - you can convert it to html4 with pictures. Works fine with the FBReader (which can display chms as well).

For the iliad there is an alternative (free) linux operating system planned (openiliad.com) - I suspect you will have a lot of more function in the future.

Stay tuned .. it will change soon.

Hi serpentinum. I dont want to be offensive: But before buying such a expensive device I inform myself about pros and cons. So disappointment can be avoided or at least diminished.

I hope you still will enjoy the advantages of the iLiad (Akira was a pleasure to read on it).

i didnt get offense because i spent a lot of my free time (night time while my wife slept) taking note of everything about:
cybook, sony 505 and 700, iliad be and dr1000, hypothesis of plastic logic, bebook and kindle.

At the end i could not see them by my eyes because here in italy there is just iliad and cybook, but in my area none of them. So i hoped online video on youtube and e-boom were enough!

At the end im happy with my iliad because i can read ecomics and that was what i wanted at the most.

Im just a little bit disappointed because i get used to sony prs505 software and calibre.
I think it is like changing from a mac computer to a windows computer: u will find a lot of free software working when before was hard to made it but.... u will miss a lot of little trick and comfort u didnt know u liked so much

So... i hope new os from the developer community will satisfy me more!
So, like other people said, if you want to read ecomics BUY ILIAD (if it worths for you 300 more bucks) but if you want just read books i think 6'' is the best format.

Among cybook, kindle, sony and bebook i think sony is the best but just comparing comments and video online: better buttons position, light enough, good sw supporting lrf (calibre) and great price. But i know everyone has different target will satisfy.

cheers
