Justify Text causes Search function to fail
Hi All,
Please be gentle, first post. I've stumbled into a problem that I can't find an answer for on the internet. I have one book that is causing me a headache... originally it was an .epub file which I needed to convert to .mobi and that worked fine. The text was not justified though, and kindle had that option greyed out for me, so I did what I normally do in this instance and just converted the .epub file to .mobi, changing in the 'look and feel' section of conversion to justified text. All seemed to work ok, until I try to search for a word in the book once it's put on the kindle. It's complicated to explain without visuals... I'll do my best. The book is just shy of 1000 pages. When I search for the word 'valhalla' (because I know this word appears just once in the book) it shows that there are results on page 914. It is true that before the text is justified, that word is on 914, but after justified it highlights random words on that 914 page, none of which are the word I'm looking for. I've discovered that 'valhalla' appears seven pages on, so I'm getting the picture that the search function is stuck relating itself to page numbers. Is there a way to fix this please? If it were any other book I probably wouldn't care but this is a really important book for me, and being so long the search function is pretty crucial. Many thanks. |

You probably just need the kindle to re-index then book. Delete the book from the kindle, then reboot it, then convert the book to azw3 (not mobi) and transfer the azw3 to the kindle.

Oh... Spoke too soon. Although the indexing is now working correctly, I no longer have the option to change to different fonts on that one book on kindle. Any thoughts on what I can do from here would be very much appreciated.
