Just saying hello and....

thought I should mention that I have a secret desire to own both the Sony reader 505 and the Kindle. I have a replacement Kindle on the way (mine broke) but am tempted to buy the Sony reader as well. Common sense tells me that one of the readers would probably end up sitting on the shelf......still want both though.

Hi Camann and welcome to the Forum. My sympathies over the broken Kindle.

Since you've got the hots to also get a Sony, had you considered getting the new Sony 700?

PS: If you do get the Sony, you won't be the only Kindle/Sony user on the Forum. We are out-of-control bookworms

Camann, your secret desire isn't so secret anymore, but you're among friends. Glad you joined the forum.

I have both. I travel with both.

I *buy* books for the Kindle. After all, the Amazon store has the best selection and prices.

When I buy books @ Fictionwise and Baen, I get the multi-format books and download both formats so that I can decide on which device I want to use when I start to read.

I lean toward the Kindle most of the time, but I think that's because it was the first one I bought and I'm really comfortable with the controls. I also like to highlight, particularly when I'm proof-reading a book that I've built.
