Eject, Reconnect?

Just changed to a Clara colour after my ClaraHD died. There was a method (either a patch or calibre plugin) that did away with the need to eject and then reconnect to send all series info etc.
I cannot for the life of me remember what it was, can anyone help please?

You cannot remember what never was. There is no such patch. You do have to reconnect to have the metadata sent to your Kobo because the eBooks need to be imported into the database before the metadata can be updated.

One thing that really helps is NickelMenu because you can setup an option to allow your Kobo to connect to USB without having to unplug the USB cable.

Sorry Jon, but there was, I was using it on the HD. Send books, eject and everything was there in one without having to reconnect.

Yes, NickelSeries. I suddenly remembered just before you posted. Put it on the Clara Colour and it works a treat.

Thanks for posting the reminder @Sirtel

NickelSeries does not do as much as a reconnect. You cannot put the page numbers, estimated time to read, and description. It only passes the series and subtitles to the database.

Unless you reconnect, that's not possible.

What might have happened is the connection broke and was reestablished without your knowing it due to the cable being loose on one end.

Unless the ebook has the details in the actual ebook content, rather than in metadata.
