When I transfer new books to the Kindle, the Kindle shows always a 'New' tag in front of the book title. Only after opening the book, the new tag go's away.

Is it possible to disable this feature, so that the new tag never shows up?

When I download a book to my Kindle Paperwhite, the word "new" appears under the checkmark indicating the book has been downloaded to that specific device. I get no tag in front of the book name. What model of Kindle are you using?

The "new" tag disappears after a while, because not all of my Kindle books say new. Most have never been opened.

New seems to mean the book has been recently loaded and normally goes away in a day.

Unless the clock on the device is wrong or the book was days old when loaded via USB in which case New may never appear or may take a clock correction to remove.

Or at least, it goes away with your NEXT download of books (and perhaps several days). So download one book separately, in a few days, and you'll have only one book with the new flag.
