Summary not imported while downloading metadata
When i want to download the metadata, I receive records. I click the record with a summary in it. It is displayed on the screen, but when i Save this data, the summary is not saved. This is in 3.24

One of the first things you need to check is if you told Calibre not to download the summary. Right beside the download metadata button on the Edit Metadata screen at the bottom, there is a configure metadata button. Click that. Make sure that in the box "Metadata Fields to Download", the Comments checkbox is checked. If any of those boxes are unchecked, the metadata will not download and be saved.

You could post a screen shot. Saved where? After you download and select metadata, and then click OK the metadata is written to the database, but it won't be written to the ebook format files (EPUB, AZW3 etc) stored in the library. When you use the Send to Device or Save to Disk the files sent/saved will have the current metadata. If you mean saved in the ebook format files within the library then you need to use the Polish Book or the Embed Metadata tool to update those files. BR |

As you can see, I have a book without summary. I edit metadata and click on download metadata. Then I choose the record with a summary. Click on OK and return to my book. In older versions the summary is displayed in the database then. But from version 3.24, the summary screen stays empty.
Now I have to copy and paste the summary manual in the summary window. |

Been using Calibre for ages. Nearing 40,000 books in my library. Calibre pretty well has operated seamlessly all the while. It's the most intuitive, user friendly, piece of software I've ever used. Yet, I was having this same problem, and I couldn't figure what happened. I update the program every time a new update comes out, and I suspect, somehow, the metadata preferences was altered while doing so. This answer and forum corrected my problem. Thanks again, Mr. Goyal and friends!
