IOS & Calibre
I read that Calibre cannot work directly with current versions of IOS because Apple won't give 3rd party software access. This may be a dumb question but there are at least a half-dozen programs (such as Syncios) that run on Windows and yet can access the ebook directory on an iPad with the current IOS (12.xxxxx). Why can't Calibre do the same?
I know I can work around things with a kludge by having Calibre save ebooks to a directory and then having Syncios copy them to the iPad but this does not give a true synchronization and is tedious to boot. |

Because those use unsupported unofficial hacks to do it, which no one in the calibre community is interested in maintaining. The way to connect iOS devices to calibre, is wirelessly https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...one-ipod-touch
