Script to fill blank sections in a column

Is there any way to automatically add a word to a column if it's blank for a book? I've got about 300ish books that I'd like to do this with, and would really not like to do it all manually if possible.

The column is a custom "Comma separated text" type if that matters at all.

Search for

#columnname:false

select all books, click edit metadata->custom metadata->set some value for the column
