Adding new books to CALIBRE library.
I know this is a basic question but please be patient with me. I have started using Calibre to manage my Kindle books.
I formerly used the software to manage my epub books but that pc gave up the ghost years back. Anyway I transferred about 400 Kindle books to Laptop by usb then added them to Calibre. I have since purchased about 30 more books. How do I add them to Calibre? Do I have to write down the names and select them one by one via sub to pc? It is probably really obvious what to do but my brain must be on temporarily hold. Thank you for reading. Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk |

Lots of ways.
Simplest: Drag and drop. Open your file manager and drag them (all) onto the Library list in calibre Use the Add Books Menu item (the green book with a + icon |

An additional one:
I download all content via Kindle4PC to my PC and use then connect to folder for copying all new books to calibre. This helps me to identify easily all new content in a comfortable way (for my workflow). |

Thank you all. I will download k4pc DD. Not sure I will be able to tell the newest books since I last transferred books by USB but I will check it out and get back to you here if needed.
Thanks again. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk |

BTW, the "Add Books" methods mentioned don't "move" the book into calibre, but instead they "copy" the book into calibre. The file in the source location remains, and if you don't want or need this original file you need to delete it manually.
Calibre also has an "auto-add" function which you can setup in Preferences>Adding Books on the "Automatic Adding" tab. You simply specify a folder, classically called a "watch folder", that calibre watches for changes and when it finds a file in one of the chosen formats it will automatically add the the book. This method, unlike the manual Add Books methods, will then delete the file from the watch folder. |
