Copy from Library A to Library B

I am copying a bunch of books from one library to the other.

The books in Library A have files attached to them, the books in Library B don't. Many of the books in Library A are in Library B.

Here's the thing, when I copy from Library A to Library B it says it is merging duplicates, but when I go into Library B and look at one of the books the file that should have copied over isn't there.

Auto-merge added books if they already exist: Overwrite existing duplicate formats - is checked.

I don't get it. I seriously don't get it. Please help

Library B: sort on Title. Do you see an alternate Author spelling?
Overwrite only works when there is an EXACT match. one tiny difference and you get a separate record. Just Merge those: Select Destination, then hold control-key down: then select the dup: (release the key) Tap 'M'

Great idea but no duplicate book. I even just did a test where I copied 1 book from Library A to Library B. Just one book that I know already exists in Library B. It says "some books were merged..". The file isn't there.

Weird. I use this all the time without problems W10 x64

Run Library Maintenance (Right click the Library Icon) on B

Ran check library and restore. Tried to copy the same book. Still got message "some books were merged...". Still no book

I have it checked and set to overwrite because there are sometimes newer versions

@Tarisea - run the Find Duplicates->Find library duplicates option from library A against library B with the following settings (and any others that come to mind) and see if it detects the expected matches.

Note the language option at the bottom of that dialogue box. I don't know if the baseline calibre duplicate checking (IIRC it only checks Titles) takes language into account. If you hover your mouse on that option the tooltip explains what it's about.

It finds the match. it found it when i copy and pasted. It just isnt coping the file from one to the other and i dont understand why

I just found the problem. It is copying it. It is there. I didn't see it because the plugin I use File Name isnt seeing it. Thank you for everyone's help.
