why dont create empty book with no format then give it a name, author.
then drag n drop to book details one by one. |

A possible creative way around this is to use connect/share ->connect to folder and select your library folder. This folder will then be shown as a device and each book format as single book entry. You can use this to "add" book formats as separate books to your library. |

I don't know of any way to unmerge the books in bulk, but you could do it fairly easily on a book-by-book basis.
The Add Empty Book option, despite its name, can also be used to duplicate the book record you're currently on, including all its metadata. Then delete one book format from the original record and the other format from the new record. Adjust the metadata as you like. |

To do this in bulk, I'd do the following:
1) ' Embed Metadata' on all books Do not automerge books on adding. Read metdadata from file contents. (both are on the 'Adding Books' settings) 2) Create a new library 3) Do an 'Add Books' from your original library *directory* into the new library, using 'Add books from directories, including subdirectories, multiple books per directory' That should get you a book entry per format with the right metadata in your new library. Figuring out which format is which and doing something with that is left as an exercise for the reader ![]() |
