Export all is missing opf files

I was keeping my library in my google drive folder. I read about the possible problems (I have not had any problems), so I used Calibre export all/import all to copy the library to an external hard drive. Then I planned to use the mirror function of FreeFileSync to keep the google drive copy current. This showed me that Calibre does not export/import the .opf files. FreeFileSync wants to delete all of them from my google drive folder. Is this okay? Was I supposed to tell Calibre I wanted the opf files also?

I've read all I can about opf files and it seems Calibre only adds them when it adds a book? But for some reason it doesn't need them anymore? It's a really big library and I want to make sure.
Thanks

OPF in the Library folder is for Calibre RECOVERY. It should not be confused with the OPF within the book.

If you want to 'export' that OPF and Covers, use the Save To Diskand set the options (only in Preferences) Preferences:Saving to Disk
