Device: Onyx Boox Darwin, inkBOOK Obsidian
SD card?

What's the protocol for the ext. SD card?

I've had android phones, tablets, and the usual is Device, sd card, Ext sd card.
The first SD card is on the device, it seems to be set apart for mostly media type files. All the phones I've had with an external card and the Acer tablets work this way. Newer devices - SD card for media only unless specified for executables. Then apparently media will be stored on the device, not the external card.

It doesn't seem like the Boox wants to use the built-in library app to read from the ext. sd card. Looks like it copies over to the device's internal sd card. Is this usual with Boox Darwin? If you try to scan the library, Boox either can't find the books, or copies them over to the internal SD card. There is no choice to specify a path.

The inkBOOK would read from the external card. The inkBOOK did not have Google Play.

I've found copies of files that should be on the device copied to the external card. I've been using Calibre's send to device, but the only choices are card a or card b. On the computer, ereaders show up as drive e, and the external sd cards as drive f. Books are media as far as I'm concerned and they can stay on the external SD card where I can copy and back up far easier or put books in a different device.

I'm not going to enable Google Play. I have no need for it. The reading apps that came with the device are OK for me.

I bought the Darwin as I don't want a large screen reader. Both of my Acer tablets are 10 inch and a pain to hold on to. The smaller Darwin with the page turn buttons is just right.
Bigger is not always better for some of us.
