[MacOS] HELP - can't open Calibre, "damaged"

I downloaded Calibre 1.48.0 on my Macbook Pro (High Sierra, 10.13.3), and it downloaded and copied to my applications folder without any problems, but when I try to open the app it says "Calibre is damaged and can't be opened, you should move it to the trash". I tried going into my settings to change permissions but there were no options. Please help!

Why are you downlaoding 1.48? The current version is 3.19

Because the download page says "calibre works on macOS 10.9 (Mavericks) and higher" and "If you are using macOS older than 10.8 (Mountain Lion), the last version of calibre that will work on your machine is 1.48"

High Sierra 10.13.3 is newer and higher than Maverick. It's brand new, and was just released a month ago.

Use the current version of Calibre.

Software DOT revisions are NOT fractions
.9 is less than .10, .90
