Our library operates under a life+70 copyright law. Wilder died in 1957, hence her books will not enter the life+70 public domain until 1st Jan 2028.

I believe the OP deserves a more complete answer...

The MR library originally operated under a Life+50 copyright law. For some reason or other that I can't remember exactly, it changed to Life+70. That made all books under Life+70 unavailable for download.

Didn't the site move from registration and hosting in Canada to registration and hosting in the United States?

On a semi-related note, the Wilder estate commissioned the design of an excellent board game to sell in their gift shop back in 2011.

Walnut Grove.

The print runs tend to be too small (so it goes in and out of stock) but if you can get a copy when it is available it is a good light weight boardgame.

I've met some of Carrie's descendants several times over the years the 1st being when I was a child and one of them visited the local library in my hometown. I don't think that Laura's daughter ever had any kids and Mary was never married like in the T.V. show.

Carrie Ingalls had no children, although she had stepchildren. There are no direct descendants of Charles and Caroline Ingalls.

Hmm. Something I didn't know. I know that Laura only had one child, her daughter, but I always assumed that Carrie had some descendants by blood.

Interestingly enough, although all of Laura Ingalls Wilder's works are public domain here in Canada, Gutenberg.ca only has her first book, Little House in the Big Woods.

On the bright side, publishers have taken advantage of the PD status and you can get omnibuses of everything for quite cheap.

It's the same with Fadedpage, though they only have the illustrated edition (the illustrator died in 1957 as well) while PG/ca has both the illustrated edition and an earlier post of one omitting the illustrations.
