Weird sort in Kindle App

Hi,

I'm using the Kindle App for android and I'm getting a weird thing happening when I sort my books by author or title. It is ignoring the letter "A" at the start of names or titles. For example it puts books by Clive Barker before books by Joe Abercrombie in a author sort because it is reading the names as Barker and Bercrombie. It is also ignoring As at the start of titles so a book called "Around the World" would be placed int he R section. I've uninstalled/reinstalled several times. I'm not sure what else to do.

Which version of the app are you running?

How sure are you that your analysis is correct?

Kindles handle author metadata in a special way. If the author in the book's metadata is "Clive Barker" it will display as "Clive Barker" and sort by "C". If the author in the book's metadata is "Barker, Clive" it will still display as "Clive Barker" but will sort by "B".

It is version 8.4.0.70. I've actually edited all my books to have only one author name, so it is just Barker or Lovecraft or Twain with no first name.

When in Title sort the Numbers come first. Then A-Z With Books that have A or The in title they some times Ignore & got to the Next Word

Example The Big Red Dog.... May start with The but most will start with the 2nd word in this case Big.

With Authors it get more confusing Amazon sometimes uses the LAST name 1st & Some times even by the Same Author use the First name 1st. IF there is a 2nd or even a 3rd named author its even More confusing.

Total Amazon I don't see this on my Kobo or even the Sony I use to have.
