Unfortunately not - with the Kindle you must manually add the books to collections: you can use tags in Calibre to sort the books, then batch-add them to your Kindle and add that batch to the collection your tag shows.

Hi, this is the process I use when transferring more books from Calibre and putting them in Collections:

1. Open the Kindle manual on your Kindle (this is to use as a marker for added books, when sorting by “recent” - you can use any book you remember).
2. Connect Kindle to computer and wait until it shows up in Calibre
3. Click the Tag (or custom column if using that to note what collection a book should be in) column header to sort the books in Calibre by the tag/collection.
4. Select all the books in one tag/collection and send to Kindle.
5. Eject the Kindle, wait while it updates the books on there.
6. Choose to show “downloaded” “books” by “recent” on the Kindle, now you will have a list of books you just added, that all should go into the same Collection, up until the ‘marker book’ (I use the manual).
7. And now I don’t have my Kindle before me, but I think you have to choose Collections view, then “add remove books from collection”, and you get a book list view on the Kindle with check-boxes on the right side of the title, there you check all that go into this collection. Note! The Kindle defaults to showing “all” books, so you have to choose “downloaded” and make sure the books are listed by “recent”
