Automatic update to 5.9.2 broken jailbreak?
My PW3, which was successfully jailbroken until yesterday, updated itself to 5.9.2 overnight and now when I try to run my Kindle Launcher I am told "Application Error. The selected application could not be started. Please try again." Restarting the Kindle has made no difference. I must have not set backdoorlock up correctly

Any thoughts on what I could try? I don't want to do anything without advice from one of you experts first, in case I make things worse...

On 5.9.2 you should install booklet version of KUAL. It is included in the same archive as kindlet version (azw2) as bin-file.

We hid the answers in the jail break instructions.

The "backdoor lock" has not worked for years (2 or 3 at least).

Firmware 5.9.2 does not support active documents.

Firmware 5.9.2 does not support the current booklet build of KUAL, there is a prototype replacement being evaluated.

Cunning! So... I have installed the nomax hotfix and removed KUAL-KDK-2.0.azw2 from the Documents folder (although the Kindle Launcher icon still shows on the device - any way of disappearing it?)

Are you saying there is no way at all of getting KUAL working on a 5.9.2 PW3 now (yet)?

You will just have to wait until we get things updated here.
You can help shorten the wait by helping to update our add-ins for the changes made by Amazon/Lab126.

Note: They did not ask for our approval before breaking things, nor did they give us any advanced warning.

And I am sure you are keeping up with the jail break status in the first post of the jail break thread:

It should survive an update to any firmware version. It is designed to be viral.

No worries. I've had a further browse around and installed Update_KUALBooklet_v2.7_install_G090G1.bin which has given me back my KUAL.

I will help in any way I can...

Strange indeed.

What I'm wondering now, and apologies for going on, is how to get the screensavers working again. I read that MRPI doesn't work on 5.9.2, so I tried copying the python install file to my PW3's root, but it is deleted on ejecting from my laptop.

I can confirm:

KUAL 2.7 is running on my PW3 5.9.2

KUAL 2.7.2 is running on my KOA2 5.9.0.6
Here with limited usage as mrpi does not install anything, but thats expected due to the new layout. Was surprised to see KUAL running at all
