Isaac Asimov robot books - anything similar?
This series was some of the best reading I've ever experienced. But alas, I've finished them all for a second time and wondering if anybody wrote a remotely similar book/series?
All the plots were so creative and inventive - I had NO IDEA what was coming next, which is the opposite of many modern books I've read. thanks! |

Can we assume you've read Asimov's other books?
If not, then his Foundation Trilogy fits the bill. Graham |

There's a trilogy written by other authors in the same universe. The first is titled Caliban, I think. I enjoyed them.
Also there is a Foundation trilogy written by other authors. The best one was the one by David Brin. |

Roger MacBride Allen's Caliban trilogy are the best Asimov books Asimov never wrote. A shame e-books don't appear to be available. The books capture Asimov's feel, but to be honest, Allen is a better writer. The series examines what the effect of living with Three Law robots would have on humanity. Very good series that should remain available. I have seen fan scans of the trilogy, but I guess that's neither here nor there. There were some other robot series Asimov authorized: Robot City, Robots and Aliens and Robots in Time. Each was a six book series where each book had a different author. Not bad. There was also a trilogy by Mark W. Tiedemann: Mirage, Chimera and Aurora. I haven't read those yet. Lastly, there's an I, Robot trilogy by Mickey Zucker Reichert. I just discovered these myself. I think I'll give the first book a shot. It's $2.99 Last edited by ZodWallop; 12-19-2017 at 11:32 AM. |

There's nothing quite like Asimov's Robot series, in my opinion. However, if you are open to a slightly different and darker take on manufactured intelligence, "The Wind-up Girl" by Paolo Bacigalupi is absolutely astounding.

Asimov's Robot stories are puzzle stories. If you like the puzzle aspect, i can recommend James White's Sector Hospital stories. Lots of puzzles.
