cover issue

hi friends can you help me please
when i convert to pdf
i am getting content lines in cover image but after the cover image.
And i want to see these all lines on next page and in cover page i want see only cover image and no more contents

@haskel - assuming the input is epub, try styling the 'Contents' para with page-break-before.

You can do it in the epub editor, given it's a one off, see the In-line example in ==>> Page-Break-Before - Cascading Style Sheets Properties

Hmmm, I'm no expert at xhtml/css, i just hack around until I get something like what I want. I'll nudge theducks and get him to take a peck - surprised he hasn't already.

But first I'd prettify the code, I think its a 'flower icon' in calibre editor

Then I'd stuff something like the following, after the <img src = blah blah> line - <p STYLE="page-break-before: always">.</p> That's a period between '>' and '<' purists might use some invisible character or other, but in situations like this I prefer an unobtrusive character I can see.

I'd also want to see what happens to that image url if that site wasn't reachable

1) I never convert to PDF,. So I have no clue what happens. AZW3 is my devices target format.

2) KISS: I split the HTML file where I absolutely want a forced break.
Too many devices ignore CSS/Style commands

3) I almost never use inline 'style=..." CSS rules them alll

4) page-break-after: always attached to the images style class might be another option

Have you tried 'printing' the EPUB via the calibre ebook-viewer, it produces PDF Output.

Given Packt offer PDF wouldn't it be easier to just buy a PDF version of the book, maybe they give a discount if you already bought the EPUB.

You could cut and paste the code for the section you want to be on a different page from the file where it's currently at into a new .html file (hit CTRL-F5 to add a blank .html file--drag the new file from the bottom of the list on the left up to where you want it to be and then right-click on the new file to link to the .css files) - or - you can add the following line within the CSS rule for the first line of the text in the image you posted:

page-break-before: always;

Then convert the file, and Calibre will place that text into a separate .html file.

In the Book Editor, add the following to the "content-summary-list" CSS rule in the stylesheet.css file:

page-break-before: always;

Then convert the file, and a new .html file will be created that will place all that text into a separate file.
