PB 624 battery problem

hi!

can anyone help? my basic touch's battery is draining rapidly. It's a few months older than 2 yrs. My problem is, that it looks like the problem is not the battery but something is always running. The LED display that usually switches off when the display is idle and nothing happens is always on, like if something is always running.

any ideas?

It's hard to tell without looking to see what is running on the device. It could be that the WiFi is always enabled, it could be a screwed up EPUB is putting the automatic library update program into an infinite loop,... If you're not afraid of a unix command-line shell, you can install the pbterm application and see what is running at any time.

I had the same problem with a Pocketbook touch Lux 3. It only occurred when using a micro SD card. If no card is inserted, the battery last for a long time ; as soon as a micro SD card (32 GB) is inserted, the battery is drained within a few hours.

I think that there's a problem with the firmware (W626.5.14.791).

Wifi is always Off.

It could be that the SD card is bad or there is a bad epub on the card, so that you only lose power when the card is inserted. It's not necessarily a problem with the firmware.
