Fire 7 and SD card
I have a Fire 7 tablet, which I use with an SD card. Every so often, the tablet tells me that the SD card has been removed--it hasn't--and I have to either restart the tablet or remove and reinsert the card. Then the tablet recognizes the card and everything goes along fine until the next time. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it perhaps an indication of the tablet beginning to fail?

Not had that issue yet myself (with a 128GB card installed). Hard to say what the issue is, could be software related, could be the card slot is having issues, could be that the card is dying, could just be a compatibility thing between the Fire (either hardware or software) and the card.

Try and format the card. I had a card that would not read all the time. this fixed my problem. Good luck

Thanks. There were no issues until a few months ago, and it doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's annoying. I use SanDisk cards, and I've never had a problem with them in other devices. Next time it happens I'll consider either changing or formatting the card.

If you do format the card use the SD Formatter utility from the SD Association. Sometimes formats from OS base utilities can make the cards flaky in my experience.
