Server cache epubs

Excuse my probable ignorance
So I see if i view a book, the server makes a cached copy of the epub in (on windows) appdata/local/calibre-cache
This cache version remains across restarts of calibre
If i edit the book in calibre the cached version is not recreated, i need to manually delete it
What am i missing?

The cache will be updated if you reload the book in the browser, or access it from another browser where it has not been accessed before.

Access the viewer controls in the browser and click reload book.
