Colorizing Title Text
I have been using Calibre for several years and have a number of topic libraries set up.
Is it remotely possible to change the color of the ebook title entries in my libraries so I can designate which titles have been read by sight? Thanks for any assist with this. |

If you don't already you need to create a column for the read status (read:true, or read date). Or even decide that if a rating is set mean you read the book.
Then in Preferences > Look & Feel > Column Coloring > Add Rule Example: Set (All Columns) to Color; if the (Rating) is greater than 0 or Set (All Columns) to Color; if the (read_date) is set etc.. |

Hmmm... not at all clear how this would visually distinguish read books from those not read in the "new" column.

This is what I do:
I create a custom column called Shelf. In that column, you add in whatever text values you want: read, to-read, dnf, backlog, dont-touch, etc. So then you'll have a shelf that's read, a shelf that's to-read, a shelf that's did not finish, and etc. This means that you'll probably have to go through each of your books add those values to each of them. Then go to Calibre > Preferences > Look & Feel > Column coloring In Column coloring, add rules to highlight a title entry for a certain color based on the shelf value. Example rule for read shelf: Set the color of the column "All columns" to "#55aa00" (hex code for green color), If the "Shelf" column has values "read" Restart calibre and calibre will make any book titles that has "read" value in the shelf column to green. Add different colors for different shelf values. Ditto. |

Aha (I think). Appreciate all of the above help and the specificity of this last reply. Will give it a whirl.
Thanks to all! |
