CSS text color should be dark blue. Everywhere.

I'm trying to get dark blue text throughout an ebook I'm reading, using Calibre Reader. Using a CSS stylesheet, via settings.

Unfortunately, some text is black, while other text is the wanted dark blue.

How do I get ALL text to show as dark blue??

Here is the css code presently used:

body, h, p
{
color: rgb(0,2,41) !important;
background-color: rgb(247,247,255) !important;
}

Thanks!

Why do you want dark blue? That's not all that readable.

you have to check all the css because other (lower level) parts of it must be overriding that top level declaration.
strip out ALL other colour references and it should work. post the full css if you cant solve it.
NB on an actual e-ink reader it will still look black - those cant do dark blue !

Okay, well, some text is still black.

So, what's the best way to strip out whatever needs to be stripped out?

Bear in mind, talking about a plain small epub.

I just tried the file in the calibre viewer with both the styles mentioned above. I didn't see any black text. Can you take a screenshot to show where the problem is? And maybe a screenshot of the view preferences to show what you have done.

Not sure what you mean by view preferences.

Here's a screen shot of the third page down in the epub, showing some text navy and some text black .

If you're not showing ANY black text on your system, must be some reason for that.

In other epub readers (FBReader) all text is navy.

It works for me. I just pasted the CSS from the first post into "User stylesheet" of the viewer and it worked. But, the contrast wasn't very high, so I changed the CSS to the following:

Code:
body, h, p
{
color: rgb(0,2,241) !important;
background-color: rgb(247,247,255) !important;
}
The attached images show the page you showed plus the viewer config.

Not sure why, but that works. All blue.

Go figure.

Thanks for your help!
