Help

Hi,!!!!

Glad I found you---I have just gotten the Cybook Gen 3 and when reading a book it does not save the page I left off on, ever. I have to go page by page to find my place and as I get farther into this book that is going to get even more annoying.

How do I reboot and that seems to be the answer from what I have read.

Thanks for any help given.

I still can't set the internal clock--what is a text editor--is that a program like Word?
I am so sorry that I bought this reader. I also have a Kindle, which I have had NO PROBLEMS with. This thing does not even save my place in the books I bought from Fictionwise. I must go through hundreds of pages to find where I left off. I am totally frustrated.

A simple soultuion

Give that Cybook to someone you do not like and buy yourself another Kindle. Why Did you get a Cybook, when you already had a Kindle?

It is my understanding that I can't load a mobipocket book on the Kindle from the library. If this is not so, please advise and how do I do it, if possible?

There are folks here who are using their Kindles with their local libraries, so it can be done.

Start by reading this thread. Then if you need more help, start at thread in the Kindle forum and those with more experience in the matter (not me, sorry) will jump in and help you.

Nightingale, it would be a good idea to ask your question again in the Cybook area of the forum. There are some real experts there, but they don't always look at all the other areas of the forum.
It will be the quickest way to get an answer to your specific Cybook query.

Failure to save bookmarks is almost always caused by a corrupt filesystem. Do a "chkdsk" on both the internal drive and (if you're using one) the SD card.

Never, EVER, disconnect the Gen3 from the PC without using the "Safely Remove Hardware" tool.

.mobi is essentially the kindles main format. The .amz (the format when you download somthing from amazon) format is nearly identical to the .mobi format, except it (.amz) is DRM protected. So, yes, .mobi files will work on your kindle. I would recommend Mobireader and Creator to organize and transfer your books. (the .amz files are only readable on your kindle, and will not work in mobireader, unless you want to rewrite the code, which is fairly easy.)
