Does the stylus damages the e-ink screen with extensive use?

I was wondering whether a screen protector would be needed for stylus based ebooks like the boox max?
I usually shun from screen protectors on ebooks but most ebooks aren't as stylus extensive as the max, especially since I plan on using it as a notebook.

I would not worry about scratches on screen by stylus. There is already a special layer on screen, which works as anti glare and scratch protection. It is made of hard plastic. The tip of stylus is of much softer plastic and cannot damage this surface during regular use. However you must take care, that no grains of sand are between tip of stylus and screen, since sand is abrasive and can cause scratches.

(Hi Booxtor) Which brings to mind something I mentioned elsewhere (it was about whether it is the less layers on top of the screen, e.g. the frontlight, that make the MaxCarta so "pixelated" in comparison to other Onyx products): instructions/possibility to add an extra film on top?
It is not overcare: I ruined an eink screen in a spot of one reader and dented another. And of course, while normally treating them with religious devotion.
As I mentioned via E-Mail (BTW did you receive it?) I contacted a leading firm producing films for mobile devices, but they replied that they do not trust placing their products not directly on glass.
