Glo 4-pin setting drained battery

Has anyone tried the 4-pin setting that came with the latest update? It seems to keep my reader in sleep mode, and never power off after 15 mins and totally drained the battery.

I've played with the PIN setting since you had to set the affiliate to Rakuten to enable it and I haven't seen battery issues. I just tried adding a 15 minutes power off to my standard 5 minute sleep setting and will see what happens in about 15 minutes. So more to follow...

I set power off to 10 minutes. After sitting for 5 minutes, my KA1 went to sleep, in another 5 minutes it powered off. Powered it back up, entered the PIN and this time closed the cover to put it to sleep. After ~12 minutes, I opened the cover and it was powered off. Powered it back on, entered the PIN and it seems happy enough. OTOH, this reminded me why I normally keep power off set to never. I'm going to leave it overnight and see what the battery does. Currently showing 89%.

I left my KA1 after it shutdown for 11 hours. The battery showed a 1% drop during that period (it was at 89% when I left it for the 5 minutes to sleep and 5 more minutes to power off with PIN enabled). When I powered it back up, the battery reported 88%. As usual, YMMV.

Pretty much the same with my Aura H2O last night. It went to sleep after 15 minutes, the light turned off and I left it alone. When I checked before going to bed after a couple of hours, there was no noticeable battery level drop.

hm.... not sure what you mean by affiliate to Rakuten. I don't have a Rakuten account and was able to set a pin.

So i have no battery drain issue if the pin is on and the backlight is off. However, if the backlight is on, it never goes to sleep. I think this is more of the 1% backlight battery drain issue that some people are experiencing

When the pin feature was first rolled out, it only worked if your affiliate was set to Rakuten. Now the pin feature has been rolled out to all.

In previous firmware, the PIN lock was only available to those who had the affiliate on their device as Rakuten. With 4.4, it is available to everyone.
