First post - Calibre help - says database is full

Hi - first post - and probably (hopefully) being an idiot here. Running windows 10. Never had a problem with Calibre before. Opened the program today, added some books from my computer. Then tried to add books and kept getting error messages saying "full". Now whatever I try to do I am getting error messages.
Trying to add book from my hard drive

Can anyone help? Or do I just delete the program and start again?

Thank you. Sorry for the long post.

Have you checked that your C: drive DOES have spare space?

FULL? Don't think this is reasonable. There are users with well over 20K books.

Are you trying to run with the LIBRARY on a Network or Cloud drive? Not a good plan.

@Marega - if you're using Calibre Portable on a thumb drive then maybe it is full.

Is your hard drive connected to your laptop?
Is your hard drive mounted?

I don't know if it is an OS setting, or something internal to the hard drive, but I've come across hard drives that automatically unmount themselves, if they aren't used after a specific period of time.

Hi - The main hard drive was nowhere near full. I am using a PC with many external hard drives fitted. What I did to fix the problem was move the entire library to an external hard drive. Then closed and opened the Calibre program again. And then moved it all back to the original PC hard drive. That has fixed the problem but why it happened I have absolutely no idea! .mobi files use up hardly any memory!

Thank you so much for helping. I was getting desperate!
