Help with Kindlelazy

Hi I'm new to the forums and joined here because I wanted to use the kindlelazy mod in this link https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=278776.

I tried to jailbreak my kindle but in the first step of downgrading the firmware, I'm having trouble. When I download the .bin file it downloads as a VLC media player file.

Then when I put the file in the root folder and disconnect the kindle, I try to press "update your kindle" but that option is greyed out. Any help would be appreciated thank you!

My apologies. Current firmware: 5.8.9
First 6 of serial: G090G1

You linked to the jail break description that I maintain.

Read second sentence, the one which is in bold font and underlined (the forum software does not let me write it so that it flashes different colors and dances).

Read the short description that follows, then open that spoiler and follow the provided step-by-step.

That should answer your question about why the initial *.bin package just disappears.

Oh I see, I can't downgrade with 5.8.9 firmware, thanks for the help.
