I have tried to convert a book for three days now and keep getting an error message like this. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I suspect that you haven't successfully removed the DRM from the book. Detailed discussion of how to rmeove the DRM is beyond the scope of MobileRead. Ask at Apprentice Alf's blog or Apprentice Harper's github repository.

Once that's sorted, do you really want to convert from PDF to (say) ePub, or did you just want to extract the PDF? If the latter, you should use the KindleUnpack plugin.
