Dictionaries for ONYX BOOX i86

Hi all,
this is maxgliosca.
This is the first time I write in a forums. I hope to do the right things.

I'm struggling for the first time with an e-reader, it's name is ONYX BOOX i86 HDML PLUS (with front light)
I have a fundamental problem; I do not know how and from where I can download Dictionaries for this device.
Honestly I bought it for my wife, and now she wants to use it also like a dictionary to save time during her study.
The most important one is Italian/German but also other are requested.

Can anyone help me?

thanks in adnvance

New to ereader, I can only remind you to look in the Playstore, like all androids devices.

Also looking for a dictionnary (Ducth) but I'm would like something very interactive while reading. In the I86 dedicated post here, people say that only a special format is supported to get this "automatic" trasnlation while reading. Have to find it again.

If you are looking for dictionaries that work with the built in dictionary in the reader, you can find some here https://sites.google.com/site/gtongu...t-dictionaries.
Unpack a dictionary and place it in a subdirectory of /sdcard/dictionary

Hi Xavier, never,
really thanks for your support. actually was the easiest way, but I took more wrong and difficult one.

I bought a dictionary ebook on a library Italian.
I paid and when I received the acsm file are started other problems.
even if I’ve created the Adobe ID for Adobe Digital Editions the e-reader is not able to register it and I can download it.
basicelly when I try yo open acsm file, it ask to register the Adobe ID.
After minutes of device frozen it appear a message “the e reader has stopped”.

actually am not very happy of this product.

Is it better to open the ebook/dictionnary straight on an ereader ? I mean you could open it first on a computer then maybe convert it in stardict and been able to use the onboard's onyx software.

But from a first check, it should be possible straight from the eraeder with "Overdrive" (no idea what that is, you pick my curiosity):

For the available Dutch dictionaries in stardict... (thanks Niveru but) nether the Dutch-English or Dutch-Dutch are enough complete for me. Maybe Dutch is to complicated for a valuable free dictionary. Otherwise stardict work great while reading with Onyx software I thing.

OverDrive is another ebook service. Some libraries use it for lending too. It uses a very proprietary set of file formats.

If you want good dictionaries, you need to use commercial ones most of the time. Free ones are far from perfect most of the time, unfortunately.

This is something learnt from my Kindle DXG days. Now there's GoldenDict, you could buy good dictionaries and use it on Android devices (it provides a ColorDict-compatible API). GoldenDict for desktop is GPL, but proprietary in Android. Anyway, it's not expensive and does the job well.
