Not booting after font upgrade
Hi all,
Apologies for any inexperience and ignorance. I recently purchased a 2nd hand Kindle DXG which was on the 3.2.1 firmware and after some reading I discovered this meant that the DXG was jailbroken. I decided then to update the font file (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=88004) to NiLuJe's latest kindle-fonts-5.16.N-k2.zip as based on the info.txt in the linkfonts folder, the fonts on the device were kindle-fonts-4.6.N-k2.zip. The update was successful and the device rebooted however after it rebooted it wasn't able to progress to the main library screen (see image) - just stuck on loading page with top bar. I've tried copying a blank reboot file into the link fonts folder but the reboot doesn't help. I also did a factory reset via recovery mode. I can access both USB drive mode as well as USB recovery mode. Any guidance would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you, Last edited by taikonaut; 04-02-2017 at 10:19 PM. remove both update_*.bin files from USB storage and re-boot.
post back here with the results. In general, never put more than one update_*.bin file on a Kindle at a time. Its updater can not handle more than one at a time. |

Thanks for the reply knc1, I tried deleting the two .bins from the linkfonts folder but it doesn't seem to resolve the issue.

I thought you where showing the highest, visible level of USB storage. Try the sticky "Master Index" on the subject of the old-style (manual) de-bricking for ideas. |
