Somwhat strange question re charging
So, I finally bought a new out of the box Aura Kobo One. It asked me for language (english) signing in using a Kobo account etc, then ended up on the main page. But the thing is already 60% charged?!? Reading the Kobo instructions it seems as though it has to be charged at least three hours before usable. So the question is, is this an already used KAO I have gotten instead of a factory new? If so I will of course change it, but it just seems odd to me. At the moment it's charging via usb hooked up to the computer. Presumably you can also charge it through a a/c charger? I dunno something just seems fishy to me as though this is a refurbished one not a factory. Am I being paranoid?

What Willa said. 60-70% charged is probably the sweet spot for "longish" term storage (i.e. getting from factory to store to end user). Li-ion batteries like being in the mid range of charge. Kobo also want enough that it doesn't discharge to zero (as getting truly to zero, not zero according to the meter that shows on the device) and staying there is bad for the battery and fully charged is slightly less than ideal (and costs them a few more cents for electricity and time to get it there). I use a phone charger to charge mine most of the time.

Thanks! I will not phone and yell (nonono I never do) at customer service. Funny thing is, it charged to 100% fairly quickly just being plugged into the computer. So all's well that ends well. Now the only problem is getting all my e-books onto it, and praying with alla my heart that I haven'd done something to screw up the collections column in Calibre, since we're talking over 13,500 books.
