Cannot install v2.8.0 or later on Win 7

Hi! I have a win7 box, and am a long time user of Calibre. I am running v.2.79.1 as I have been unable to install 2.8.0, 2.8.1 or 2.8.2. The installer starts and then stops, reporting "Another Installation is in progress. Please wait until it is finished, to install".

Taking advice from a post, here, I tried to uninstall Caliber 2.79.1 before attempting the new install. But the uninstall program reports the same thing. That another installation is in progress and that I must wait until that is finished, to uninstall.

I have restarted Win7 and then done run a registry cleaner, but nothing changes. HELP!

This is not a calibre issue; rathef it's a Windows issue. Try googling that string --> http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Another+Install...%2C+to+install and try some of the tips given
