iMac El Capitan How to mimic Ctrl+Home (PC keyboard)
iMac has a mini wireless keyboard.
No Home and End keys. I found into Calibre Viewer the params to customize the shortcuts. So I can mimic the Ctrl+Home and Ctrl End equivalent to PC world. I did not find how to customize shortcuts into the calibre main page. The idea is to send the cursor at the top/bottom in one shoot. Under El Capitan, fn+Down Arrow jumps one page. And Apple+Down Arrow does not jump to the end. Any solution ? TIA |

I can't find anything either - if they were anywhere they'd be in Preferences->Keyboard->Miscellaneous.
Ctrl+← and Ctrl+→ should do Home and End but... There's a OSX gadget called DoubleCommand that enables some Windows/Linux-like keyboard mapping BR Last edited by BetterRed; 03-12-2017 at 02:49 PM. |

Thank you.
AFAIK, I think I went there. Not quite sure, maybe I saw theses params first then I jumped to Viewer and I did not came back to main GUI. I am not in front of the Mac, I 'll check next Week-End. I am a bit cold with gadgets, I had bad misadventures. I favour the original internal params. Best regards |

Actually, in the GUI main page the param Advanced |Keyboard | Miscellanous does not display option to personnalize the shortcut Jump to Home/End as it appears in the Viewer.
Strangely when I display the whole list as icons, the command fn + Home send the cursor to the top and the command fn + End send the cursor to the bottom It works fine as expected. This does not work with the detailled list mode. Fn + End jump down one page. It looks like a Calibre's small bug, but I don't want to use this word before some Mac/Calibre users can confirm this strange behavior. Mac OS X and Calibre v:2.82 If so, I will add a request to support. |

I tested it on my iMac (which is the only Apple machine I have) and Pressing Fn + Cmd + left/right arrow keys works the same as pressing Cmd + Home/End i.e. it goes to the first/last book in the book list

[SOLVED] iMac El Capitan How to mimic Ctrl+Home (PC keyboard)
Quote:
Yes it works well in both modes, detailled listing and icons. I am not an usual Mac user. The first thing I did was Fn + Left/Right arrows and it was OK in icon mode. So I did the same in detailled list. As it is not a Cal reserved command, I have got an unpredictable result. Best regards |
