hello...

Just bought a Kindle(off of Ebay, brand new, and $30 cheaper) and I have a Sony reader as well..the Sony may end up being given to a relative, or I may keep it and just have 2 ebook readers...

Anyhoo, excited to find this place because it seems like everyone is pretty knowledgeable and welcoming...

Welcome! Two devices, huh? Well if you decide to bequeath your Sony to a family member, be sure the Reader is going to a good home where it will be fed appropriate amounts of power and content, protected from Luddites, and generally loved and adored.

Thankfully, my family is full of those who love to read...I've also been introducing my parents to the wonders of gadgets and technology. So, I think I can find him a good home.

Having fun with my Kindle so far...although, I still have to practice not hitting the "next page" button. I also am not a fan of the case it came with. I'll have to scoot over to the accesories board and see what else is out there.

Yeah, we all go through a bit of a learning curve with the Kindle. I put mine to sleep pretty much every time I put it down (even for a second). But eventually, you'll get the hang of it. It really is a wonderful device (IMO).

I ended up making my own cover (I wanted a cover that zipped closed, and couldn't find anything like that on the market), but there are some nice third party covers out there .... especially those made by FrankN (do a search for his name here and you should be able to find his site ... he used to sell on ebay, now he sells directly). Frank's covers are really nice ... and all hand made.

Tip: while a book is open, the alphabet keys don't do anything. You can hold the device down there.

The M-edge executive case for the Kindle holds it very securely, and elegantly too. Looks like amazon only has this lower priced case in black now, but carries all 4 colors of the real-leather case for a higher price. Anyway, these are very good cases.

Enjoy! A Kindle is a great companion!
