Calibre reader - Font display very strange in a couple of ebooks
I am reading or trying to read an ebook. The font is displaying very strange. I looked at it in edit and there is no strange coding in the html to explain the random font changes.

In the calibre editor display everything looks perfect. In the Calibre reader everything looks kind of weird.

I installed the latest release of Calibre (I had one that was a couple of months old installed as I don't tend to upgrade unless there is something in the change report that I think I may use unless I start having problems) and the problem is still there.

I am not sure what it is about the structure of these books that makes them display as they are.

Hard to say without looking at the books in question, but the most likely culprit is an embedded font that the Qt WEbKit font renderer does not like.

I can't post the book but could send it to you Kovid, if you provide me with a means to do so. As for it being the viewer's settings, I would assume that it would affect more than two books.

@LadyKate - when you open the EPUB in the book editor you should be able to see any embedded fonts in the Flies Browser.

If you use Windows:- I keep a copy of the Windows Portable installer on hand, which I can install and use to make sure anomalies such as this are not due to something I've done in preferences etc.

You can create an obfuscated version via the ScrambleEbook plugin and post it here.
