refurbished h2O...questions

Hi !

I just got a refurb Kobo h2O. Everything seems fine but I got two questions:

1) The firmware (automatic update by wifi) is 4.2.8432. I thought that this was not for the h2O. Any problem with this ?

2) When I close the reader there's a FNAC sign. How can I get the cover of the book i'm reading like my old Kobo touch does ?

It appears that 4.2.8432 released for H2O.

It seems odd to me that he has to do that. I just bought a new H2O model and it defaults to showing me the cover of the latest book I am reading when it goes to sleep. Perhaps refurbs have settings from a previous user?

By the way, tostaky, I was using a Nook Simple Touch, which is very similar to the old Kobo Touch, I think (no screen light, lower res screen). I think that the H2O is a REALLY big improvement and I am very pleased with it. Good luck with yours!

The problem described about the FNAC sign on the sleep screen is because the Kobo is set to FNAC as the affiliate. But if you do a sync to try to get the new firmware, as of right now, the only way you'll get the new firmware (via sync) is if the affiliate is set to FNAC. You can still side load the new firmware.

As for the nook Simple Touch, it's an awful device. The shape makes it odd to hold. The buttons are too stiff. The UI is awful. The partitioned memory is an abomination. The modifications B&N made to RMDSK (ADE) aren't all that good. Overall, a very poor Reader.
