Library management of dupes

I got an old library messed up with a new one, and it's taken me dozens of hours to sort through it all. I'm almost done but I want to check that books I have copied to the library folder, are indeed showing in the library.
Is there anyway I can check?
I thought of simply adding the entire library again but I can't find a way to stop adding dupes.

Run the calibre library check function. See https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/gui.html#library

Yeah it says there's loads of books not in the library. How do I get them in though? Is it a long case of entering by hand?

1) Create(/Switch) and empty Library (like original, if you have custom cols)
2) switch back to original.
3) Select All:(right-click)Copy to Library <new> Delete after copy
4) Switch to the new
Whet is left in the old Library (OS) folder, is those you need to deal with (add,toss...) you can drag and drop into th Calibre GUI
DO NOT EVER drop/delete or Rename direct into a Library FOLDER

Thanks for this, I'd got it all done before I saw the post though. I just copied the error file, and went through it one by one deleting the folders then asked it to rebuild the database again, no errors. Nice one

Once you have it sorted out make backup copies of all your libraries. The next time you make a mistake you can simply restore from your clean backup.
