Change Author Sort to LN, FN

In the thread at https://www.mobileread.com/forums/ne...eply&p=3372210 I found some helpful info but I seem to be missing something and cannot get the Author Sort to be LN, FN and the Author to be FN LN.

I guess I need the instructions for dummies! I have a bunch of books from numerous sources and decided to try and clean things up. At this time my author field is FN LN and for most of my books the Author Sort is also FN LN. I installed the "Quality check Plugin" changed the "Search Scope" to "Selected Books" at least for now.

I want to change the "Author Sort" to LN, FN and leave the Author name FN LN. In the Quality Check I tried Fix > Swap Author FN LN <-> LN, FN. This changed both the Author and the Author Sort. If I run the FIX again then both the Author and Author Sort revert back to FN LN.

How in the heck do I just change the Author Sort?

What you have in Preferences->Tweaks->Author sort name algorithm is the main controlling variable. Be sure to read the tweak's description.

If you recalculate all the Author Sorts (in Manage Authors), you may need to correct the sort names for authors with non hyphenated double barrelled surnames like St John, García Lorca etc.

If I edit the metadata all of my "author sort" fields are FN LN and I now want them to be LN, FN. I'm looking for the silver bullet that will change all of my books (16,084) from FN LN to LN, FN for the author sort.
