Sadly, checking my calibre library, I have all the books offered in the bundle. There are also the Valdemar Anthologies where I have 19 of them from Sword of Ice to Smoke and Mirrors with #20 A Many-Splintered Thing on pre-order.

As a long time Valdemar fan, I'd say yes for sure! The older novels are better than the newer ones, some of them are on the annual re-read list because they are such favorites.

I agree that the Valdemar stories are an excellent series. Though as someone who owns all the books in the Humble Bundle plus quite a few extras such as the Valdemar short story anthologies, I might be a trifle prejudiced.

It looks like most of the books are grouped into trilogies; do you have a list of your favourites, or do you read specific books and not others in the same trilogy?

I generally re-read the entire overarching series when I do a re-read so about 3 weeks to finish. I re-read in chronological order so starting with the Mage Wars, the Founding of Valdemar, the Last Herald-Mage, the Collegium Chronicles pentalogy, the Herald Spy, etc. Much like The Chronicles of Narnia, I find I prefer chronological over publication order.
Most of the time, I will read one or two of the Valdemar Anthologies after each series. |

By the Sword is probably my favorite overall, after that I prefer the Mage Winds trilogy, Storm trilogy, and Arrows of the Queen trilogy. Oh, and how could I forget the Tarma & Kethry duo + short story collection. I am not as much a fan of the historic chronicles (Last Herald Mage, Mage Wars) or some of the later ones, although those are usually very popular with others.
