Advice: broken screen ?

I'd like a second advice: do you think the screen is broken ? It was my daughter's and she told me it happened all of a sudden. I think it may have been hit, somehow. What do you say ?

Unfortunately I must confirm that: the substrate is broken.

It's broken and most likely it was hit at a specific point. Maybe it was stuffed into a bag with other things and a corner of something else got the screen right there?

eInk is extremely fragile, it can be broken with a single finger if you press on the screen with some force. So if you read horror novels and tend to give your books a good strong grip while doing so... you should lose the habit with your ereader.

Thanks, sigh. And with the cover, too....
