Energy Ereader Pro HD

Hi

In an attempt to take a step away from Kindle and the Amazon "empire", I purchased an Energy Ereader Pro HD. Generally I think it's a good piece of kit, however, I do find the resolution rather poor, even compared to my 167dpi Kindle.

In some respects, the clarity sharp but the contrast is poor, the text when reading appears faint compared to my Kindle (above). I've tried different font's etc, is it just me, is it an Android factor (given Android is aimed at colour tablets)?

Thanks
Neil

Neil, I have one of these. After some messing, I have found that using the AlReader app (available on the Play store), with it's e-ink setting switched on, setting refresh rate to every couple of pages, and installing one of the e-ink modified fonts (such as Charis) available from this site, the display is pretty good (not as sharp as my 300 dpi Tolino Vision 3 HD) but as good as any 212dpi reader I have used. (AlReader also gives one a true full-screen reading experience - once the relevant tick box is found deep down in the advanced settings).
